The 22nd National Courier Awards celebrates excellence in logistics and delivery and is organised by the Institute of Couriers (IoC) and hosted at the majestic Institute of Directors landmark building in Pall Mall. The gala industry event took place on Tuesday and saw a number of prestigious awards given, including five corporate awards.
Arbitrated by an independent panel of judges, the awards recognise the very best of the best in final mile delivery and the winners were selected from a huge number of nominations. The judges chose O’Donovan as a winning business who recognise a top down approach to the safety of its operations and for their strategy ‘Safety Above and Beyond’ which ensures all staff are on board, focused and importantly, the judges commented “they understand and take ownership of the part they play in the safety of all. The result is higher staff morale, lower staff turnover and a companywide embracement of health and safety goals.’
President of the IoC, Viscount, Lord Falkland opened the awards saying, ‘Twenty-two years of the National Courier Awards, Express is an evolving sector and these awards have driven recognition of excellence’.
Jacqueline O’Donovan, managing director was there to collect the award and she herself has been previously honoured by the IoC with the respected hood of fellowship in recognition of her vision for freight in the final mile environment.
The Rt Hon John Hayes CBE and Viscount, Lord Falkland, presented Jacqueline with the Corporate Safety award with John commenting, ‘Tonight, we see recognition of excellence from start to finish.’
Jacqueline said, “To receive such a prestigious award is a tremendous achievement for all the team and it is an honour to accept it on their behalf.”
