Committed to the Highest Environmental Standards

As a leading waste management operator, understanding our impacts and aspects on the environment is paramount to ensure sustainable working practices align with our overall business strategy. We place greener initiatives and environmental performance at the forefront of our priorities and vision for the business.  We continually invest heavily in processing facilities and ensure our clients waste is recycled or re-used and divert 100% of all waste from landfill, demonstrating our commitment to excellence in all our environmental practices.

Construction and demolition waste is processed to produce recycled aggregates using state-of-the-art equipment and this is reused in construction and infrastructure projects. All of our recycled materials come with a British Standard quality certification.  Internally, we have implemented several initiatives, in a top-down approach, to reduce the environmental impact of our fleet and operations, improve air quality and introduce more efficient, cleaner driving which has contributed to us becoming a greener business.

As well as being commercially successful and processing one million tonnes of waste, the company has reached a number of other milestones for its innovation, leadership and sustainability, such as the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Gold Standard accreditation. FORS is a voluntary but stringently audited accreditation scheme that promotes best practice for commercial vehicle operators including strict bench-marking and management of fuel efficiency and vehicle emissions.

O’Donovan’s strategic focus on sustainability and commitment to cutting emissions has seen us upgrade our fleet to to operate using solely HVO Biofuel (the first waste company in the UK to do so!), as well as having charge points fitted at our depots following our move to purchase electric vans; a further move to make our fleet the most environmentally friendly in London.
